I saw this rack on someone's car and went out looking for it. Very glad I found it. Easy to attach (other than getting a bit dirty from removing/replacing the spare tire); very secure; great all around. The aluminum material fabrication is fine, however, the plastics and threaded-rod mounting lock to tire is kinda cheap and susceptible to vandalism/theft. What finalized my dislike for this product is the rotating arms--diffcult to use and again, chaeap in construction. My first rack was mad with 3/4 inch black pipe and carriage bolts. I have come full circle with the Thule 963. The Spare Me does what it promises. It's clean, easy to remove, and does not corrode. I'm very happy with it. |
