This rack is nice overall. It seems very solid and I like how easy it is to lower the rack to open the rear hatch door. The threaded hitch pin works great to keep the rack/bikes from swaying while driving. I used it on a 1.25" hitch and it felt really sturdy and secure.
Now the complaints: -The rubber holders that strap to the bikes tend to slide. On a recent 1000 mile round trip, the bikes kept sliding toward the back of the rack, which puts more stress on the hitch and the rack. I remedied it by putting some zip ties just behind each strap to keep them from sliding, but it's not really an optimal solution.
-Doesn't work great with small bikes. The spacing between the arms of the rack are a bit wide and don't accomodate a child's bike very well (I made it work, it just looked funny).

We took 4 bikes to the beach with us (5 hour drive) and this rack worked very well. We had a mix of bike types, kids', men's, women's and this rack worked with all of them and held them securely. I've very glad I purchased this rack, I don't think spending more money would have gotten us a better rack. The first time my husband loaded up the bikes, it did take some time until he figured out what order to put them in and how best to hook them up but once he did that, he could get them off and on pretty easily. We did have to turn handle bars to fit them all on but we expected that. I'm sure we will get a lot of use out of this bike rack.

I bought this rack and was broken when I received it. It was obviously already opened. Returned it for a replacement. The replacement box was even worse. It too was obviously ripped open (I mean ripped like a kid opening a box on Christmas morning) and taped back together. I'm not even bothering to open this. Who knows what has been taken out of this box to fill another parts order. I assume I would only find the same broken plastic pieces all over the inside, as I did the first rack. Stay away from this company. Poor shipping and extremely poor choice to ship already opened products. Amazon was awesome to deal with and refunded money.
