These no-sway attachments, used in conjunction with Stay-Put cradles and their securing straps, dramatically reduce front-to-back and side-to-side bike frame movement, delivering bike stability on the road that borders on that enjoyed by much more expensive bike carriers. In addition to this, the easy maneuverability of the carrier arms allow for convenient and quick movement up or down to the precise place you need them. This makes the rack usable with virtually any bike frame size. Therefore, even if you have a bike that has a very inclined top tube it will still works well. Also, this feature allows you to keep the bike closer to the car and lower to the ground. That improves the handling of the car. Most importantly, the lower placement of the bike improves the overall aerodynamics, and that translates to about 1-2mpg for my Toyota Camry. You can fold down the arms while keeping the the rack on your car. That reduces the overall length of the car. The numbered adjustment setting allows you to dial in for perfect fit for each car. Just remember the number and you can expand it back up to the same position every time after you fold it down. It folds down to a fairly small package when not in use.
