The Thule 821 Low Rider is a fork-mounting block that can be attached to any flat surface. With it truck beds, walls, floors, camper tops, random pieces of wood, boat decks, roofs, or any other surface that you can drill four holes in can be transformed into a fork mount bike rack. The Low Rider is made of heavy duty metal, and designed to work with a cable lock (sold separately) so your bike stays where you left it.

The Thule Low Rider Bicycle Fork Mount is simultaneously the most basic and most versatile piece of bike mounting hardware in existence. A simple heavy-duty plate with a 9mm quick-release fork mount skewer running through it that attaches to your bike's front frame dropouts, the Low Rider Fork Mount can be screwed or bolted to flat surface in minutes using the appropriate user-supplied hardware and the included hole template. This means that virtually any truck bed, wall, floor, camper top, boat deck, roof or stable piece of wood can near instantly be transformed into a fork mount bike rack with just the drilling of a few holes. Each Thule Low Rider Bicycle Fork Mount can be used separately for a single bike or combined with others to create a custom, ultra affordable bike rack. It can also be used with Thule's 822XT New Bed-Rider Fork Mount Carrier to expand its capacity and a cable lock (sold separately) to secure bikes and homemade racks to theft-proof structures or vehicles.

Since the spare tire is mounted on the back of the vehicle it is harder to find a bike rack for it. We don't have a hitch, so it would be very costly to get one installed and then pay for a rack. We bought two sets of the fork mounts and installed them on a 2X6 piece of scrap wood (51 cents at Home Depot) which fits perfectly inside the back of the CRV.
